at 2012 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
January 6, 2012
For the second year in a row, Oak Cliff Cellars wines have been professionally judged to be medal winners at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the largest American wine competition of its kind and one of the oldest. This year's Oak Cliff Cellars winners were:
Jim Richardson, President and Managing Partner for Oak Cliff Cellars (started in 2008) stated, "As with last year's showing at this event, we are very pleased to have so many of our wines be scored this well. That comes from focus: starting with very high quality fruit from small but promising new vineyards and then allowing Bruce (Regalia), our winemaker, work his magic and make the best possible wine each year!"
Last year, Oak Cliff Cellars came away with Silver and Bronze medals for three wines. The 2007 Mendocino Pinot Noir and 2008 Lake County Petite Sirah both won silver and the 2008 Curtis Ranch won bronze. Richardson added, "Our plan all along has been to make a few handcrafted wines in small lots from previously undiscovered vineyards that have the potential for producing outstanding fruit year after year! I think we are on track."
